Asthalin® Respules are manufactured by Cipla and are indicated to treat and relieve symptoms of bronchospasm, which is the condition of narrowing of the small airways of the lungs or bronchioles that happens in reversible obstructive diseases like asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Asthalin® Respules relieve breathing difficulties caused by bronchospasm with symptoms including, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness. The drug can be used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm, a form of asthma triggered by exercise and allergy induced asthma to known allergens like pollen or cats. Asthalin® Respules is a ‘reliever’ medication as it has a rapid onset (within 5 minutes), but is short-acting and is a rescue medication that can be used if an asthma attack happens, or to avoid an asthma attack. It is composed of the active ingredient Salbutamol, an adrenergic receptor agonist, which works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, opening the air passages, and help the flow of oxygen. This medication prevents and eliminates bronchospasm, reduces the resistance in the airways, increases the vital capacity.

- asthma;

- chronic bronchitis;

- emphysema.

MOA (mechanism of action):

Salbutamol, contained in Asthalin® Respules, is a short-acting beta 2 agonist that stimulates beta2-adrenergic receptors. By binding to beta2-receptors Salbutamol stimulates these receptors resulting in the lungs results in relaxation of bronchial smooth muscles. Due to the rapid-action of Asthalin® Respules, medicine goes directly into the airways passes in the lungs and relieves bronchospasm. This way it reduces contraction or the airways, opens them up allowing easier breathing and removing such asthma symptoms as wheezing, cough, shortness of breath, and tightness in the chest.
